Classical is anything from 1940s-1960s So any composers, lyricists prominent in that time would do. My humble opinion. Hmmmm....I would consider anything from before the late 1960s as classical. Once you hit Hair, musical theatre starts to really incorporate "mainstream" musical elements. The 1970s was a decade of immense musical diversity and innovation.
